Frown Lines
Treatment for vertical frown lines, also known as glabellar lines or "11 lines," typically involves the use of neuromodulators such as Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin. These lines form between the eyebrows as a result of repetitive muscle movements, particularly when frowning or squinting.
During the treatment, a small amount of neuromodulator is injected into specific points along the muscles that cause the frown lines. This temporarily relaxes the muscles, preventing them from contracting and creating the wrinkles. The procedure is quick, usually taking just a few minutes, and relatively painless.
Results typically start to become noticeable within a few days, with the full effect appearing within 1-2 weeks. The effects of the treatment usually last for about 3-4 months, after which follow-up injections may be needed to maintain the results.
In addition to neuromodulators, other treatments such as dermal fillers or skin resurfacing procedures may be recommended depending on the severity of the frown lines and the individual's aesthetic goals. However, neuromodulators remain a popular and effective option for softening and minimizing vertical frown lines.
